Ceramic coating helps to add corrosion protection. With this added protection the component will last longer as well as visually look better than non coated surfaces. So rather for performance or show, ceramic coating is the way to go.

Ceramic coating also helps increase the thermal barrier. This helps keep more heat within the exhaust system. Resulting in more heat inside the manifold which accelerates exhaust gas velocity, and reduces back pressure and fuel contamination by reversion, which helps gain performance. Also ceramic coating exhaust reduces surface temperature of the coated part, allowing components that lay close to the exhaust such as switches, alternators, and floor pans to absorb less heat which in turn makes them last longer. Also the under hood temperatures will be reduced, which will assist in cooling air entering the carburetor or throttle bottle which also is another performance advantage.
